The objective of the BMSS Environmental and Food Analysis SIG (EFASIG) is to facilitate users of mass spectrometry and chromatography who have a particular interests in food and environmental applications. Our members have many and varied interests including; environmental forensics & monitoring, food science & safety, public analysis, occupational health, and water science & quality, in both the public and private sectors.

The BMSS EFASIG successfully implemented a sustained series of 1-Day meetings from 2004 under the stewardship of Dr Peter J Baugh (Analytical Methodology Centre). Our most recent event was in Manchester in 2019. Our BMSS EFASIG2020 meeting was scheduled in July 2020 at the University of Leicester. It is with regret that we have has to cancelled this event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a consequence we are now implementing a rolling biweekly series of virtual meetings from early summer 2020 until further notice.
