Professor Peter Roepstorff

The BMSS is sad to report the passing of Professor Peter Roepstorff on 3rd February 2026.
Peter was a pioneer in the study of proteins using mass spectrometry, including co-authorship of the Roepstorff-Follman schema in 1984 for peptide fragmentation that has underpinned MS based proteomics for decades. His legacy continues at the University of Southern Denmark.
