Accessibility & Inclusion

The BMSS is committed to facilitating the full participation of all delegates at the conference. Please find some information on accessibility and inclusion matters below:
- All meeting rooms within the Royal Armouries and New Dock Hall have step free access via. Entrances, corridors or passenger lifts. The scientific programme is scheduled to take place in rooms that are located across the two venues. Additional time has been included in the schedule to allow delegates to navigate comfortably between meeting rooms and the exhibition at the start and end of sessions.
- Blue badge holders are permitted to park on Armouries Drive free of charge. Parking at this location is subject to availability (Please liaise directly with the team at Royal Armouries prior to the event (Tel: 01132201990). Disabled passengers arriving by taxis or alternative vehicles may disembark on museum square.
- Male, female, accessible toilets are available within Royal Armouries and New Dock Hall.
- A hearing loop is available in all the lecture rooms. All delegates (in-person and digital-only registrations) will have access to the recorded talks after the conference.
- Repeater screens have been added to lecture spaces were deemed necessary for delegate accessibility and inclusion.
- A designated quiet room will be available for delegates to access if required. Please ask at the registration desk for details.
- A private, bookable room will be available which can be used (e.g.) for prayer, breastfeeding etc. Please contact the registration desk at the event, or email admin@bmss.org.uk, and we will endeavour to meet your needs.
- Vegetarian food is provided as standard at lunches and the Inclusive Conference Supper but other dietary requirements (e.g. vegan, gluten-free) will be served from a designated dietary requirements table in Royal Armouries Hall.
- Alcohol-free drinks will be available at the Dai Games Symposium, pre-dinner social event, and conference dinner.
