Single Cell MS SIG Meeting 2026

Pushing the boundaries of single cell mass spectrometry - Join us at the third BMSS single cell 1-Day meeting on Friday 9th October 2026 in London!

Following the great success of our BMSS Single Cell Mass Spectrometry SIG Meetings in Surrey and Nottingham, we are excited to bring you the third annual meeting, taking place on 9th October 2026 at Kings College London, UK!

This meeting coincides with the international single cell mass spectrometry conference, which is taking place 6-8th October in the same venue – visit https://singlecellms.org/ for further information.

Single cell mass spectrometry is pushing the boundaries of molecular analysis, offering unprecedented insight into cellular diversity at the molecular level. By enabling highly sensitive, spatially resolved profiling of individual cells, this field is reshaping research in cancer biology, drug discovery, and precision medicine. Emerging technologies - including mass spectrometry imaging, microfluidic platforms, and advanced single-cell sampling techniques - are driving innovation, yet overcoming challenges in detection limits, reproducibility, and methodological standardisation remains crucial for unlocking its full potential.

THE MEETING:

This meeting will bring together leading experts, emerging researchers, and industry pioneers to showcase the latest breakthroughs, discuss key challenges, and foster new collaborations.

We are delighted to welcome two leading experts in single cell mass spectrometry as our 2026 plenary speakers:

Dr Alejandro Brenes, University of Edinburgh – An award-winning expert in single cell proteomics, currently pushing the boundaries on sensitivity

Dr Felicia Green, Rosalind Franklin Institute – A leading authority in sub-cellular analysis using water cluster secondary ion mass spectrometry

CALL FOR ORAL PRESENTATIONS AND POSTERS:

We invite researchers at all career stages to submit abstracts for oral presentations, flash talks, and posters. This is your chance to present your work to a highly engaged audience!

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: 1st August 2026
  • Notification of Acceptance: Week commencing 28th September 2026
  • Abstract Requirements: Maximum 150 words, including title, authors, and affiliations. Please indicate whether you prefer an oral, flash, or poster presentation (or both flash and poster presentation)

MEETING REGISTRATION:

Registration is open until 15th September. Links to the registration page for the event can be found at this link. (https://singlecellms.org/)

SPONSORS & EXHIBITORS:

The BMSS Single Cell Mass Spectrometry SIG cannot function without the generous support of our sponsors & exhibitors. You can register to exhibit on the Exhibitor page via the link on the left side of this page, and we warmly invite you to contact the organisers, Prof Melanie Bailey (melanie.j.bailey@kcl.ac.uk) and Dr Dong-Hyun Kim (dong-hyun.kim@nottingham.ac.uk) if you would like to discuss sponsoring the meeting.
