We are looking for a Technical Specialist, with a focus on proteomics, to join our Metabolomics and Proteomics Lab. The lab supports a wide range of mass-spectrometry based analytical workflows from Chemists and Biologists, encompassing the fields of structural biology, ecology, microbiology and plant biology, through to medical research including cancer and tropical diseases. The post is for three years in the first instance but will be extended as funding allows.

As a Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for running established and developing new proteomic analytical workflows across a range of mass spectrometer instruments. These include high-resolution instruments from Thermo, Bruker, and Waters, with interfaces including ESI and MALDI and various LC and GC platforms. The role is to provide support for proteomic workflows, but with opportunities in the areas of metabolomics and lipidomics. You will be joining and working with a team of four Technical Specialists, and provide a complete service including experimental design, method development, running samples and analysing data. You will engage with research groups within the University and with external partners (academic and industrial).
