KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Carry out MS instrument design, including construction & testing of prototypes.
• Conducting related calculations and simulations.
• Conducting detailed experiments to ensure new designs meet target specification in key application areas.
Patenting of new innovations & ensuring FTO.
• Ensure that a developments follow ISO9001 R&D & NPD processes.
• Analyse data and compile reports to be and presented to business stakeholders.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors & ensure DFM and manufacturing costs targets.
• Coordinate regulatory testing/ CE marking/EMC testing to ensure Safety
• Support transfer of new products into production including Coordination of testing.
• Write test procedures and equipment, user and service manuals.
• Support other parts of business, including production, quality, and product management.
• Undertake improvements to existing products as needed.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Essential:
• Educated to Degree or higher in a natural sciences discipline, with a strong analytical focus, physics or Chemistry.
• A strong scientific and technical background post education.
• A flair for innovation demonstrated through a record of IP generation or scientific publications.
• Experience in the development of scientific instrumentation.
• Experience in the development vacuum systems.
• Experience un use of the testing scientific instrumentation.
• Design of experiments.
• Analysis of larger datasets, and data processing.
• Presentation of scientific data.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Desirable:
• MS background, especially to Quadrupole Mass spectrometry.
• Experience of working with GC/MS.
• Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Previous experience of working under quality management systems.
• Experience of preparing standard solutions by accurate weighing and pipetting.
• Experience of working & good knowledge with high voltage.
• Experience of working in clean room environment.
• Project management training/Qualification.
• Experience of patent filing and FTO analysis.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacture.
• Experience Regulatory Approval (CE / CB)
• Ion optic Simulation.
• Experience of S/W development.
