There are only a handful of companies within the UK utilizing genuine novel chemical production techniques. Starting as a university spin-off, our client now has the capabilities to manufacture numerous tonnes of product, which has resulted in the commercialization process of their molecule. The molecules have been designed using completely novel ideas and are effective binders of airborne toxic compounds as well as foul-smelling odorous gases. The real-world applications are clear, especially within the FMCG markets.

The requirement for this position is due to the expansion of the Research and Development laboratories. Our client needs a hands-on, performance driven and entrepreneurial scientist with expertise in Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry, ideally with Thermal Desorption.

In this position, you will be given responsibility for overseeing all experiments on the GC instrument within the laboratory, controlling and running the methods being designed by you and your team, claim substantiation as well as other vitally important duties. The laboratories are fully equipped to deal with the expansion of the organisation, and our client is placing large value on candidates that would like visibility, freedom to make important decisions and challenge their team members to constantly improve techniques.

Successful candidates will need:
• Strong experience in method development, troubleshooting & maintenance on GCMS with Thermal Desorption and headspace capabilities
• Excellent problem-solving & communication skills
