BMSS Lecturer Seminar 2026

The BMSS is proud to present a talk by our BMSS Lecturer, Dr. Tony Bristow. Tony is currently Science Technology and Strategy Lead in chemical Development at AstraZeneca and is a former Chair of the British Mass Spectrometry Society. The event will be held virtually on Thursday 5th March 2026 at 12.15pm.

Title of the talk:
“My time in flight – a career in mass spectrometry and a look to the future ”
In this BMSS Lecturer presentation, Tony will take you on a journey through his career – both within and beyond specialist roles in mass spectrometry (MS). Inspired by a final year degree project at Sheffield Polytechnic, his passion for MS was embedded through his PhD. For over 20 years, Tony then focussed on the application and development of MS to tackle multiple problems in three unique industry settings.
Tony will share scientific highlights from his work in industry and those resulting from numerous external collaborations. Reflecting on his career path, he will also explore the decisions that have led him to his current role.
Registration is free to all members of the BMSS, but we request that you register so we can send out the Teams link for the event and have an indication of numbers.
