The post holder will provide technical support to the Lipidomics facility. Activities will include general laboratory support duties such as, but not limited to, ordering/purchasing of consumables and mainly to perform lipid extractions and daily run of mass spectrometers coupled with chromatography. The extraction of lipids from biological samples requires care, precision and reproducibility, in some cases there will be the need for chemical derivatisation prior to analysis. Full training will be provided in sample extractions and to acquire expertise in chromatography and mass spectrometry moving forward.
