The fundamentals interest group was set up at the Canterbury
BMSS meeting, at the suggestion of Alan Maccoll, with John Parker
as Chairman. Our aim is to act as a forum for either one day
meetings or shorter sessions covering the fundamental aspects of
ion chemistry. We note that fundamental is not synonymous with small.
