In recent years there has been a plenary lecture and a session at the annual BMSS 3-day meeting, as well as one day meetings focussing on specific topics such as proteomics (the East Midlands Proteomics Workshop and associated exhibition held annually in November, jointly organised with Nottingham Trent University, the University of Nottingham and the British Society for Proteome Research) and new technologies (organised by Alison Ashcroft in collaboration with the RSC, February 2007).
